Trailer motor mover, or as the Europeans call it, a Caravan motor mover (Quattro Diamond – auto engage), what is it?
I have ordered a “trailer mover” from Purple Line USA to install on my 2022 Casita Independence Deluxe that I haven’t even taken delivery of yet. I’ve researched a lot on how to get my Casita in and out of my backyard…which is between my house and my neighbors house…with a 13 degree slope and a fence I have to dodge.

Let’s not even discuss the natural gas meter that is going to need to be moved.

Or the fence and my neighbors house that is going to make backing my trailer down this hill/slope an exercise in ingenuity.

A Casita fiberglass camper is 6’8″ wide, or 80 inches wide. If the gate and both gate posts are removed, I will have 98 inches total in width, or 9 inches clearance on each side of the trailer. A tight fit indeed.
Enter the solution I’ve picked for getting my camper into my backyard, down a slope and through a narrow fence opening.
The Quattro Diamond (Auto Engage) trailer/caravan motor mover. It’s like playing with a remote control toy car….but a lot bigger and it moves really slowly. I’m going overkill with this unit, it is rated to move 5,500lbs (2,500 kilograms). The Casita fully loaded I’m hoping will not be over 3,500 lbs.
The specifications say that the motor mover average battery consumption is 20 amps with a maximum potential of 120amps when the motor is first engaged. The AGM deepcycle battery I’m ordering with the Casita should have plenty of power…if it has trouble, I suppose I’ll be looking at a lithium battery upgrade sooner than later.
