Casita all set up for the first build week. He has such a hard life. 😉 01/09/2024Tumbleweed can’t find the door to get into Walmart. 01/10/2024On January 11th, 2o24 a wind storm came through Hobbs New Mexico with up to 70 mile per hour winds. We took the Fiamma awning tent down for this one. The Casita rode this storm out smoothly, only a little rocking in the wind. 01/11/2024Care-a-Vanner clubhouse. Hobbs New Mexico Area Habitat for Humanity really spoils their volunteers. A clubhouse with full kitchen, icemaker, televisions, bathroom and soon to be shower. Oh, and free laundry facilities and full hookups…water, electricity and sewer. 01/12/2024 I got the last piece of key lime pie from Sunday dinner. 01/16/2024Frost on the inside of the rear window of the Casita…it got cold here! The Casita isn’t really setup for this kind of extreme cold, so we wrapped the underside in reflectix and put a heater underneath. This kept the black and grey tanks from freezing. The fresh water pipes are inside the Casita’s shell, I opened the compartment doors and kept the propane furnace running. This kept the fresh water pipes from bursting. 01/17/2024
Sing-a-long during Potluck on the Friday before we headed home. The entire four weeks was an amazing experience and I’m already thinking about the next trip. 01/20/2024
